After a 29 month cycling relationship with my wife, I am alone for the holidays ---- and it is ever so peaceful.  Our first Christmas she tore the Christmas tree down in one of her rages. One really didn't know if a holiday event would be attended until right up to the moment because of the roller coaster ride of her BPD.  New Year's Eve --- what a disaster. Mix BPD with alcohol and then you have an emotional monster on steroids.

We had a 7 month separation. Very limited contact --- only e-mail. She showed up on my doorstep about 3 months ago. She purported she had changed. She was seeing a therapist. She was on meds. She was attending a support group regularly. We got back together.  It took about a month for the monster to reappear.

I am glad I had one more cycle with her. This is the one that got to my core to reach a point I can move on. The divorce is moving forward.  We don't have children together. We don't have any ties.  She will be 100% out of my life in 3-6 months when the divorce is final.  I did get a couple of last gasp text and e-mail messages from her.  One respectful. One about something she left at my house. A few devaluing me and saying I am a sick demented person.  All were ignored by me without a response.

And now there is silence. No more barrages of text messages. My phone would light up like a Christmas tree with the onslaught of messages from her. I was scared to look at my phone sometimes for fear of whatever adventure awaited from her. I have been released from the shackles of her emotional terrorism.

It is a wonderful thing when you reach that peaceful point.
