This song by MSMR was a fave of my exBPDg/f. I understand why after reading the lyrics:

"Hurricane"

Didn't know what this would be

But I knew I didn't see

What you thought

You saw in me

I jumped the gun

So sure you'd split and run

Ready for the worst

Before the damage was done

The storm never came

Or it never was

Didn't know getting lost in the blue

It meant I wound up losing you

Welcome to the inner workings of my mind

So dark and foul I can't disguise

Can't disguise

Nights like this

I become afraid

Of the darkness in my heart

Hurricane

What's wrong with me

Why not understand and see

I never saw

What you saw in me

Keep my eyes open

My lips sealed

My heart closed

And my ears peeled

Welcome to the inner workings of my mind

So dark and foul I can't disguise

Can't disguise

Nights like this I become afraid

Of the darkness in my heart

Hurricane

Make ash and leave the dust behind

Lady diamond in the sky

Wild light

Glowing bright

To guide me

When I fall

I fall on tragedy

Welcome to the inner workings of my mind

So dark and foul I can't disguise

Can't disguise

Nights like this I become afraid

Of the darkness in my heart

Hurricane

Mine liked similar stuff.

Sometimes... .sometimes I thought about why on earth... .she "knew." Yet there was no help.

I always thought "seeing things" is the first step to being able to change them.

It is very sad, thinking about how someone has such a self image yet there is no way for them to change.

Trapped.

Mine typed all these out to me by text once.

"All Of Me"

[Verse 1:]

What would I do without your smart mouth?

Drawing me in, and you kicking me out

You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down

What's going on in that beautiful mind

I'm on your magical mystery ride

And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright

[Pre-Chorus:]

My head's under water

But I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, ohoh

[Verse 2:]

How many times do I have to tell you

Even when you're crying you're beautiful too

The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood

You're my downfall, you're my muse

My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues

I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you

[Pre-Chorus:]

My head's under water

But I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

[Chorus:]

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, ohoh

[Bridge:]

Give me all of you

Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts

Risking it all, though it's hard

[Chorus:]

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you

I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, ohoh

I love that song now. It makes me think of him. I wish I had understood all this stuff sooner. But maybe it wouldn't have helped. Maybe it just would have delayed the inevitable.

Mine was a singer/songwritter. In our first week together she sent me her cover singing the following song from Feist called "I feel it all". Impressive lyrics and to give her some credit my ex's version was better thn the original.

A few days before she had sent another one from some singer I can't remember her name and the starting lyrics went "Let's just get married, and start our own family... ." I thought it was strange to sent me something like that but decided to not pay attention.

It's amazing what you can discover when paying attention to the lyrics of songs that people like especially when they share them with you.

Feist - I feel it all

I feel it all I feel it all

I feel it all I feel it all

The wings are wide the wings are wide

Wild card inside wild card inside

Oh I'll be the one who'll break my heart

I'll be the one to hold the gun

I know more than I knew before

I know more than I knew before

I didn't rest I didn't stop

Did we fight or did we talk

Oh I'll be the one who'll break my heart

I'll be the one to hold the gun

I love you more

I love you more

I don't know what I knew before

But now I know I wanna win the war

No one likes to take a test

Sometimes you know more is less

Put your weight against the door

Kick drum on the basement floor

Stranded in a fog of words

Loved him like a winter bird

On my head the water pours

Gulf stream through the open door

Fly away

Fly away to what you want to make

I feel it all, I feel it all

I feel it all I feel it all

The wings are wide, the wings are wide

Wild card inside, wild card inside

Oh I'll be the one to break my heart

I'll be the one who'll break my heart

I'll be the one who'll break my heart

I'll end it though you started it

The truth lies

The truth lied

And lies divide

Lies divide

Mine loved "Save Me" by Aimee Mann, before either of us knew the second line had become the title of a pwBPD's confessional memoir!

You look like a perfect fit

For a girl in need of a tourniquet

But can you - save me

Come on and - save me

If you could - save me

From the ranks of the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

'Cause I can tell

You know what it's like

The long farewell

Of the hunger strike

But can you save me

Come on and save me

If you could save me

From the ranks of the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

You struck me dumb like radium

Like Peter Pan or Superman

You will come to save me

C'mon and save me

If you could save me

From the ranks of the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

'Cept the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

But the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

C'mon and save me

Why don't you save me

If you could save me

From the ranks of the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

Except the freaks

Who suspect they could never love anyone

Except the freaks who could never love anyone
