annulment : is this even a possibility?

I have researched the possibility of having a marriage annulled but this seems very far fetched. But jeeeeeeez, ... if I would have known that she was BPD BEFORE walking down the isle, ... .then things would have been totally different today.
Thoughts, anyone?

Depending on where you are, an annulment can be easy to get or impossible. In my state I know someone who was married for eight months before deciding to end the marriage and he had to be legally seperated for a year where his STBex received spousal support and during which he couldn't date anyone or he'd owe alimony for technically cheating, Then you've got other places like Vegas where it seems like people can get married and then get it annulled in the same day. Best person to talk to about your situation would be a lawyer.

I have a relative whose ex traveled states away to get an annulment in Jellico TN after a 6 month marriage #2. He didn't find out until she married #3, a certain inquisitive family historian (me) had gone to the court to see relative's marriage license and saw hers there too, they actually registered on the same day. However, she married a week after him, likely trying to make him feel guilty for marrying again first. And he did feel bad until I told him about her secret marriage. He had heard rumors but could confirm nothing. The kids had known obviously, kept it a secret from dad and so when they found out that dad knew, they asked, "Why did Uncle FD do that?" Fortunately I'm known as the family genealogist.
Yes, get local legal advice, the laws and application of the laws vary from state to state. Probably old rules are weakening, what with the morphing definition of marriage itself, etc. My impression, though, is that an annulment is probably not an option if a long time has passed or there is high conflict.

Kids are funny. Not, "Why is mom asking us to keep these secrets from daddy in the first place?" But, "What was our uncle's purpose for nosing around?" Often all I can think in situations like those is that I can't wait until the kids are adults and reality sets in.

as briefly mentioned... .civil or a catholic annulment
The civil annulment I have read can be done, but really what is the point? Unless I could soften the financial loss what is the point... .For what I have learned it could take years and thousands of dollars in fees.
I plan on filling for a "catholic annulment". The catholic annulment looks a the bond at the time both parties walked down isle. Did both parties have any clue what was happening at the time of the vows.

Annulment would be awesome!…but not bothering. Unless it could help me financially, I won't make the effort because I have bigger fish to fry. If I could erase anything, it would just be to get back the 7 years being with him has ultimately stolen from me. Good luck if you seek and get an annulment.
