Absolutely -- either sleep problems or allergies to something in that environment.

I'm in the lack of sleep camp, based on my SO's uBPDxw's behaviors. She had to sleep with the kids, kept them up to late watching TV, and (no impulse control) would wake them up to talk.
In your case there could be arguments between mom and grandmom (probably likely when someone has BPD) that might be waking up or keeping up your son.
You might want to arrange for a check up with his Pediatrician following a visit to moms.

Look into the sleep issue for sure, but I wanted to add that I have dark circles (purple/blue colour, I have pale skin) under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get, it's from allergies.
It could be environmental or maybe they are feeding him something that he doesn't get at home, that he reacts to.

I would say sleep deprived. Xh enjoyed the power of it. Also, if we slept that meant we were doing something for ourselves and weren't payng attention to him.
But a pediatrician visit could help pinpoint it, some of the darkness can be hereditary.

SD 11 sleeps with her mom, and describes her mom talking and talking to her at night when she is upset, and her saying, "Mommy, can we just go to sleep now?"
She comes home with dark circles, too; we focus on getting enough rest, eating a healthy, balanced diet, resting and recovering for the first days after transition.

Mold and allergies have other symptoms, too . Does your child have other symptoms? Runny nose, watery eyes, coughing or sneezing, rashes, intestinal distress, etc?
