Many of you have expressed the merits of having alienated kiddos watch Welcome Back Pluto.

Has your BPD ever voiced displeasure with you having them watch it? I could see our BPDm making a big stink about it, she interrogates SD6 about everything, so she will for sure get wind of any video that has to do with alienation.

If they did protest, how did you handle it?

Have any of your therapists watched it? Recommended it?

Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate all the help I get from these boards.

I will post after I have my S7 and S10 watch.  First I've heard of it but a good idea.  I'm wrestling with an alienated S10 who pushes back at my every directive.

sorry to hijack this thread but I was curious at what age did you start to notice the alienation? I ask because my ex is trying to alienate my daughter who is 2 from me and my family.

We showed it to our older kids, and my best guess is that they told her about it and let her know she was doing some things wrong so she stopped (bc she wants desperately to look good in their eyes).  I don't know how long it will last, but she has been behaving for months now... .wowza.

The counselors in our situation said it helped the kids see what the counselors had been trying to show them before, but because BPD mom had really alienated the kids against the counselors, they weren't listening much.  They probably believed it more coming from a DVD.

I hadn't considered that the DVD might seem more neutral. Our SD6 has been alienated from the therapist too so I am going to try this.
