Hello,

I've been dating a guy for over 3 years who has always shown weird behaviours but always had answers for it. I've never met any of his family, and we hardly ever go out, just meet a couple of times a week for a coffee & a chat.

It has recently come to light that he could possibly be BPD, he is being tested next week.

Reading all the symptoms online, does sound like him, very much.

He has admitted to me recently that he does get angry and he has hit people in the past.

I am upset that he hasn't told me any of this before, but I do really love the guy, and I want our relationship to go further.

I want to try to understand him and BPD so that I can support him and help him as much as I can. Can anybody offer me any advice please?

TIA

Hi Pixie38, and welcome to BPD family!   The best place to start learning about BPD is to start familiarizing yourself with the behaviors. I checked books out from the library like stop walking on eggshells, however there are some wonderful links here on this website that has the same information. You also might want to peruse the board and see if any of the topics jump at you. You might find you identify with other people's stories. I hope that you find some useful information here and are able to connect with others. It really helps to know you are not alone!

Not to burst your bubble early, but while we can EXPLAIN BPD - I don't think there's anyone here who UNDERSTANDs it!
