10,000
I gave you all I had to give
Until I lay still dead
I gave my life so you could live
On my soul you fed
Vampires real
Do not feel
Or hide from the Son
One day will fall
Knowing you had it all
That day you be undone

Well, it's national poetry month.
Keep writing, it does wonders to the healing.
Now next exercise, try to write a poem from her perspective. I am curious what she would say in your voice.
Then write a poem from a 3rd party perspective and see what images comes up.
Keep writing!

It's rough and unedited and shows my narcissism
I loved you dear on broken wings I came to you despair
For in your love I found true beauty, honesty and care.
The demons that twist my soul torment my each day,
For this I am sorry knowing they touched you in their way.
You pointed me to heaven as you prayed over my lifeless shell,
For this I will always love you even if it's hard to tell.
You walked with me through desperate times of pain and confusion dark and grim,
You held me close on cold dark nights when morning wouldn't come.
We share a bond between us that will never go away,
Each time I look into his eyes I cry for any another way.
To thank you for helping me on this journey we call life,
You gave me a most perfect child though I never was your wife.
To this dear love and trust it's true that I will forever be,
Grateful, proud of the man I loved and the man who set me free.
Broken I came into your life and comfort I did find,
You held me close when I could not silence my troubled mind.
For this dear love I will always truly be,
Grateful for the man I loved,
And the man who set me free.

Slight edit at the end. I did not set her free :'(

Broken I came into your life and comfort I did find,
You held me close when I could not silence my awful troubled mind.
For this dear love I will always truly be,
Grateful for the man I loved,
And the man who tried so hard
To help set me free.

Pretty good so far.
Now try the hard one, one where a 3rd party is looking upon your relationship (no I's or you's allowed--he and she though... .)
