You can't reason with the Voice of Unreason...

« on: February 19, 2024, 12:30:57 PM »

Doctor Ramani (Ramani Durvasula, PhD) is a clinical psychologist, professor, author and public speaker with many videos, most dealing with Narcissists.  She has an apt way of describing such persons, the dangers they represent and how to limit their impact on us.

Her website: https://doctor-ramani.com/
Her YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/@DoctorRamani
On her page you can select her most viewed videos by Videos > Popular.

Here are two of her books:
  • Should I Stay or Should I Go: Surviving A Relationship with a Narcissist
  • It's Not You: Identifying and Healing from Narcissistic People

Here is a brief list of some of her many video titles:

There are even a few Dr. Ramani videos on Rumble such as this one:
https://rumble.com/v1u693q-dr.-ramani-durvasula-clearly-explain-warning-signs-youre-dealing-with-a-nar.html

My relatives clued me into her videos.  Obviously they concluded there were too many Narcissists in our lives.

Been watching her videos for several years now. Read one of her books. She has a new book coming out. I have learned so much from her on how to deal with disordered people.

I agree that Dr. Ramani is a good resource.

That said, I encourage anyone who is new to this topic to take care before clicking a YouTube (Google) or Instagram/Facebook (Meta) links for potential resources.

1) assuming you're signed in to one of these platforms (you likely are), this will become part of your profile and history.  that means that if you view the video on your phone or some other personal device, the view history can and likely will appear elsewhere - in this case, in your shared family computer's browser - or on the YouTube app on Apple TV - for example - where your disordered partner or your kids may eventually see it...

2) even if you're diligent about maintaining separate accounts, managing personal devices, etc., you're still going to get profiled by Google and Meta, and receive a ton of likely unwanted ads on the most sensitive and personal topics.

For these reasons, I do not and will not click on ANY links to YouTube or Facebook for experts who advertise help for individuals dealing with the sort of issues that the BPD Family community has gathered to share and discuss.

Of course, ymmv - and some of these resources may be well worth the click, depending on your personal situation and sensitivity to digital privacy and associated tracking.

No need to sign in to any of these platforms on You Tube. You can still watch the videos.
