Hi there,
For the first time in my adult life, I'm trying to set up some healthy boundaries from my BPD Mother and I would love any suggestions or tips before I begin. Also, if you can recommend any books or articles I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Welcome angelove79:
Great to have you join our community  Smiling (click to insert in post)  You sound eager to learn about boundaries.   I think you will likely find adequate information within the four articles/workshops at the links below.

BOUNDARIES ARTICLE

BOUNDARIES WORKSHOP

FIVE SIGNS OF UNHEALTHY BOUNDARIES

EXTINCTION BURSTS

Boundaries are for you and your protection and well being.  They will be up to you to enforce.  Your mom won't likely won't like them, so you should be prepared for that.

Take a look at the information at the links, then let's see if we can help you draft some boundaries for your situation. What are some of your mom's behaviors that you want to set boundaries for?

Hi angelove79,

Welcome

I'd like to join Naughty Nibbler and welcome you to bpdfamily. I think that it takes courage to set boundaries, I can relate with that anxiety. It helps to get as much as support as possible, you have found a group that can relate with you and offer you support. You're not alone.

A book that i'd like to suggest is from our review of Stop Caretaking the Borderline or Narcissist‎ It's a self help book on how to change the dynamics of a r/s with a pwBPD and move it in a healthier direction for yourself and to stop worrying about a pwBPD's needs.
