Hi, I came across this message board whilst reading walking on eggshells. I've been in a relationship for just over 6 years with a man who has high functioning BPD traits. We have 2 kids age 2 and 4. I have been seeing my psych on and off for 7 ish years for family of origin issues ( 2 narcissistic parents) and also previous narcissistic partners ( slow learner) My psych is confident that my partner likely has high functioning BPD (stable job and no self harming)
I am interested to find out more anecdotal info on people in a similar situation to me. At the moment I'm looking to stay in the relationship mainly to try to minimise harm to my kids. My psych is helping me with strategies to maintain equilibrium and look after myself

Hi rosesarered,

Welcome

I'd like to welcome to bpdfamily, i'm glad that you've found us, you'll find that you'll fit right in here, it helps to talk to people that can relate with you. I also suggest to check out the other discussions and you'll see that some of the stories run parallel to your story. I have a dad that shows traits of an anxiety disorder and ADHD, I married a woman that displays traits of BPD, my marriage to her made me dig into my FOO stuff.

You're doing the right thing with seeking help from a T concurrently with a support group. I just want to ask is there conflict, if you're trying to minimize harm to the kids, we have tools that can help you. The tools and lessons are on the right side of the board ------------------------>
