Hi All, I am new to this group. I have joined in hopes of learning more about BPD and how to manage a relationship with a parent. My parent was diagnosed with BPD in recent years, and after reading more about it, it explains a lot about what I have dealt with in my life. I still have a hard time recognizing that it is not my parent attacking me when they talk to me in certain ways and I'm hoping this group can help with that. I have a lot of anger and impatience towards my parent and I typically consider myself to be a very patient and empathetic person, so this is out of character for me. I'm looking forward to reading, learning, coping, and more.

Welcome to bpdfamily Micsea1234 and thanks for introducing yourself to us

I can relate to feeling angry at times, it can be very frustrating dealing with a BPD parent and coming to terms with how much they have negatively influenced your life.

Your parent has been officially diagnosed with BPD. What led up to your parent getting diagnosed? Is your parent now getting any kind of targeted treatment for the BPD?

I am glad to see you reaching out here for support and advice. What do you consider your parent's most significant and/or most difficult BPD behaviors?

Take care
