Our son has been diagnosed with BPD / PTSD. He is now in Northwestern hospital for stabilization. He was in a PHP program as early as last week and lasted only 10 days, when they decided because of his suicidal thoughts he must be disharged.
We are looking for resources for him, he has no insurance and no job. We just applied for SS disability to see if that will help with funding. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank You

Hi Htdoctor
Welcome to you, I'm sorry to hear you are in the thick of it right now though glad your son is safe in hospital. I'm in the UK so things work differently though parents here understand how the system in US works. My DD was hospitalised and DBT team worked with her through suicidal thoughts. What type of PHP care was he in, what therapies?

Hi Htdoctor
I just wanted to touch base to let you know we are still here for you and if you have made any progress in terms of outreach help? How is your son doing, and importantly, how are you doing?
There are a wealth of resources here on the board to help with your understanding of BPD to the right
. I have recently finished reading a book by Shari Manning called "Loving Someone with Borderline Personality Disorder". It is based on the DBT therapy programme and has some very pertinent information in regards to BBPD and suicide.
Look forward to hearing from you soon. You can update your thread here:
