He says is going to call after work, about our dog

Hi family,

So for about a month we have just been emailing, sometimes a lot, sometimes not.  I had requested just email.  Then, he was in the hosp for 5 days, i called, and i said its ok if you call... .two wks no call, only emails.  Our dog got ill, we share expenses, so i emailed him, does he want me to pay my half, dog had tests, treatment.  Today, i get email, will call after work, if he is doing ok after working in the heat all day long day.

Idk what to do.  And, tomorrow is his b-day.  He forgot my birthday, earlier this month.  Its ok.

It feels like a pull.  I have things to do tonite, will not be avail til late, he didnt ask when am i avail though... .  any suggestions are appreciated,

Sure, why not.  Its just that maybe i wont be available when he calls... .and i want to take care of my share of our dog's well being... .  does this sound ok.  Thank you M.

It sounds like he's not sure, he's not giving you a clear answer about his plans. I don't think that there is a right or wrong, if you want to wish him a happy birthday I'd send him a message by text, whatsapp so that you're not waiting around on him. Don't feel bad if you're not available it's not your fault he's ambivalent, I'd suggest to make some plans.
