I’m new to anything even close to a blog. Anyways, I have a 14 year old daughter who has not really been formally diagnosed but told she could have ptsd, adhd, odd and depression. We’ve seen so many therapists and psychiatrists, done CBT, EMDr, neurofeedback, meds, talk therapy since she was 8 and nothing has worked. We have heard the term BPD multiple times by all her therapists, but she was not diagnosed. She has been diagnosed with severe anxiety. She meets all the criteria of bod as far as the anger outbursts, violence to other family members, self-harm, fear of abandonment etc... I just need a place to vent and not feel like I’m the only one experiencing this hell!

hello Angiogirl, , It is good to meet you although I am sorry about the circumstances. You have definitely come to the right place for support. This group is excellent. I am sure I speak for all when I say we are glad you are here. It sounds like you are doing all you can to help your daughter. It is not easy but there is a lot we can do to help our children. Can you tell us more about your daughter? What kinds of behavior concern you?

Oh no, you are NOT alone. Welcome to a really great place of support, learning, and non-judgment. These folks get it. It's so hard to explain what's happening with our kids (or 12 year old grandson in my case). It all sounds so bizarre to the uninitiated. We haven't had any luck with meds, either. We've tried em all since he was five years old. We finally had the genetic testing done and that really cleared up a lot of things for us. He's in a therapeutic day school and getting lots of therapy, which seems to be helping a little bit. Welcome to a club you probably didn't want to belong to, but here we are. And I, for one, am grateful for it.

Welcome Angiogirl. One of the benefits of this place is that everyone here can really understand how you feel and has lived at least some of the same experiences themselves. There are heaps of great resources here and I'm using them to try to change how I interact with my daughter (since I can't directly do much about how she interacts with me) and also to try to change how I think about things (being more accepting of things-as-they-are rather that getting stressed because they are not as I want them to be). It is very much a work in progress but I find this forum a great place for support and to help me stay on track.
