Hello everyone!
I was strongly encouraged by my counselor to join these message boards. I have been seeing her for about a month.
A little about me: My wife has been going to counseling for about four years. She is diagnosed as having "relationship OCD", and has been through many different medications to treat it. Is her current one working? I honestly don't know. I don't know what a healthy marriage looks like anymore. We have been in marriage counseling on and off for about six years, and are currently on our fourth counselor.
As I said before, seeing a therapist is a relatively new experience for me. On my first visit, I just broke down emotionally and talked nonstop for almost the entire session. The words of comfort and validation at the end of our conversation made it clear that this needs to be an ongoing thing in my life. After describing the actions of my wife, my counselor copied off a description of BPD and asked me to highlight portions that match my wife's behavior. On our next visit, we concluded that she either has BPD or has many,
many
BPD traits.
In all honestly, I would probably separate from her if it wasn't our two beautiful boys, ages 5 and 4. I cannot fathom living without them, or the though of some other guy raising my children (this is a whole other issue I would like to dive into in another topic.
So that's me! I wanted to brief. Maybe I'm being a bit too vague. I would like to hear how these message boards have helped you!

Hi and welcome.
What are the BPD traits that you see in her? How is it causing problems with you and your family.
This is often the best place to start.
