or Henny Penny. The sky was falling and the world was coming to an end yesterday. I catastrophize when I get overwhelmed. It doesn't take much to get overwhelmed.

I want to start therapy. I have insurance but hardly any provider in the network is returning calls or emails. Have contacted over 30 of them. One is no longer accepting insurance and the other is not accepting new clients.  I was grateful they called.

I live in a densely populated urban/suburban area. We've had a large influx of new residents the last few years. There's a labor shortage now. That includes too many people are chasing the now low supply of therapists.

I have books on bpd, a choice of many Catholic masses to attend daily, online novenas and rosaries.  My parents are aging but believe one of the will hit the 100 mark. That's a long time. Trying to build resilience and acceptance of being with them.

Hope you all are having a good day. Mine is going a lot better today!  Smiling (click to insert in post)

Hi TelHill!  Ha, the title made me smile as I can see myself in it.  I get anxious and sometimes I have to spend time untwisting my thoughts.  I could swear I responded to this the other day... must have forgot to hit post.  I am sorry.

I am pretty sure you are familiar with David Burns.  Do you ever got through his 10 Forms of Twisted Thinking?  We have an article here that I will refer to when I get wonky thoughts.
https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=56199.0

And then of course there are ways to untwist your thinking too:

any luck yet finding a T?  I found that going to one affiliated with a hospital negated most of the insurance acceptance/coverage problems rather than seeing someone in private practice.  I also find those are the ones who are more familiar with things like BPD, PTSD etc.

Still having a good day?

Hey Harri,

Glad I made you smile! I am having still having a pretty good day & evening.

TY for the David Burns article. Do I win a pretzel if I do all ten at the same time?  Smiling (click to insert in post)  Joking about the prize. Smiling (click to insert in post)

I jump to conclusions - like my alter ego Chicken Little. That's the biggest obstacle I have. X is acting like this, so they don't like me, will take advantage of me. I take action and bulldoze through. Not great!

That's a great idea about going to a local hospital for those who have experience dealing with trauma and helping adult children of parents with bpd thrive. Hope your day (night maybe? It's night here) is going well too.

Excerpt
Do I win a pretzel if I do all ten at the same time?

I gave you a few so you can save them for later or share with a friend!

It is easy enough to get caught up in twisted thinking and so several if not all of them about the same issue.  I know I do.  It is easy for me to recognize it after... well, when I take the time to slow down and think about it.  In the moment it is much harder to stop and work my way through recognizing the twisted thoughts and then untwist them.

I hope you have better luck finding a therapist through a hospital.  I just find them more up to date and more stable in terms of continuity of care issues.

It is night here.  On the east coast (USA).  I am a bit of a night owl.
