I am in a very stressful situation and just seeking some emotional support and community. I am due with my second child very soon; my husband and I have one toddler at home. I live in the same town as my BPD mother and would appreciate support and input on as I try to enforce boundaries in these last phases of pregnancy and upcoming postpartum period. The stress she causes me has become unbearable. It is compounded by the current social distancing practices and the fact that I cannot seek the self care, distractions, solace of others’ company, etc. that normally help me cope. I’m still working full time and also now have a child at home; I’ve been losing sleep over her antics and am struggling to make it through the days. Afraid this stress will lead to premature labor or PPD.

Hi Kannegran Welcome new member (click to insert in post)

First off, congrats with the upcoming baby! Smiling (click to insert in post)

You certainly have a lot to deal with at the moment. Getting ready to have a new child is already quite significant of course, and on top of that also the global crisis and your mother's behaviors, while still working full time with a toddler at home. Definitely got a lot on your plate here!

Could you tell us a bit more about your mother's behaviors which are causing you additional stress? You mention her antics, what kind of things does she say and/or do?

Take care and welcome to our online community Virtual hug (click to insert in post)

Let me join Kwamina is saying Welcome! Welcome new member (click to insert in post)

A number of our members have experienced stress around a BPD mom and the birth of a child. It can be very stressful. Your primary responsibility had to be your new baby, your todfler, your husband, and your own self-care. A BPD mom definitely can interfere with this.

How supportive is your husband? Have you discussed boundaries with him? How confident are you that he can help and support you have in maintaining those boundaries?I

Where does your dad stand in all this?

With the current restrictions around Covid-19, are you in physical contact with your parents?
