VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

After about a year or so of asking for a bunny rabit, I(44) finally caved and bought my daughter (13) a bunny rabbit for a pet. In the course of time, my live in uBPDgf(33) had made a comment (playing around) that if we got divorced, she would get the rabbit. I protested and made the point that the rabbit belonged to my daughter... .  so there was no way she would get it. Again this conjecture. She split the rabbit blacker than black. What the heck? She really liked it at one point. Any one else have something similar?

Wow, that is creepy. Splitting an animal black? How insane! Reminds me of that scene in Fatal Attraction.

There was someone else on these boards whose BPDbf was jealous of her because she gave attention to an injured deer... .  he started raging at the deer. And there was another story on here about someone's BPDbf being jealous of the attention she gave her dogs. So I guess it's fairly common. Wow, what a sickness!

Boy, that's bad if you're going to split a cute little bunny rabbit black!

My exBPDbf split Coconut Bliss Chocolate Ice-cream black, and then 2 weeks later it was white again.

He split me black out of the blue one morning, saying everything was wrong with me sexually and romantically... .  then a little while later said, "You're still coming to the party with me Friday night right?  We can still hug and kiss like we usually do" (but no sex).  How WEIRD!

Now that you look back on your relationship, wb1233, are you able to see any red flags that you missed?

Hardtruth

There were a lot of signs in the begining. She was beautiful and vulnerable it seemed. The passion we had was intoxicating. The fact her mom had married 4 times was the first red flag. Her wanting to be married 6 months in to our r/s was another. She was never really mean but would react hyper- emotionally to stress. Cry a lot. She'd get upset and get quiet then I would press the issue to resolve it only to be told I was mean then it would escalate to nonsensicle reasoning, deflection. Really strange.
