How can I love you if I don't love myself

When my soon to be ex UBPDW was splitting me black I asked her how can you not love me after 19 years (especially when it came out of nowhere). Her answer was how can I love you if I don't love myself. Any thoughts - this is just one of her comments that I keep going over and over in my mind.

She has a valid point... . self obsession and constant misery would hardly allow someone the emotional space to take into account a partners feelings... .
