I think the whole article struck me. It did explain a lot. Out of the list of about 9 beliefs, I think I suffer(ed) from 8 of them. I was very hung up on the soulmate issue, and that this woman idolized me. I truly believed we would be together forever, and I truly wanted-if not to "save" her, at least love her and I believed my love and being there would help her through her issues/illness.

Guess I was wrong. Live and learn.

Yes, I am lost too. Like wandering in a fog. My ex awakened me sexually, and I thank her for that, but that is also resulting in the loss of my marriage. I just can't stay in a dead marriage and be content after the amazing relationship, real or imagined, I had with the ex.

My therapist called my life a gray background, and the ex as technicolor. And he is right.
