  Hello, and  Welcome. Glad you found us!

I have a mother with BPD and learned a great deal from the book you are asking about. I believe there is a review page somewhere on this site. I also highly recommend Surviving a Borderline Parent.

Can you tell us a little bit more about what you are going through in your relationship with your mother? How often are you in contact with her? Are there any areas where you would like feedback or help?

Wishing you peace,

PF

Summerdays, I'm new here too.   Smiling (click to insert in post). I did read that book and it was very helpful in understanding some of the things in my childhood.  It can be upsetting also though, so you know.  When you say Dr., do you mean therapist?  Probably good to read it while you are seeing someone and can discuss it.

I've read "Understanding The Borderline Mother" and it was very helpful to me.  Surviving a Borderline Parent is also very good.  This book;

Is also very good.  Reading books that help us understand the condition is often called "bibliotherapy" and I feel like I can't recommend it too much.  At first you may keep finding yourself upset, "triggered" and frustrated by the constant "uh-huh" moments, but in the long run it will help you cope with, grieve and move on from many of the fleas and triggers we children of borderlines often end up with.

Welcome Summer Days,

I've read the book Understanding The Borderline Mother.  I bought the book, and wrote a whole bunch of margin notes of things that I could relate to.

I've also found that reading these posts has helped.   Sometimes it's hard to believe what has happened to us is really true.   Reading other posters writings has helped me to feel not-so-alone in all this.

I'm glad you found this site, and hope that you find benefit as I have.
