I think I have to say... .  I'm learning and may have passed my mid-term exam on LC, Detachment and wondering where that familiar crunch of the egg shells went!

DBPDstbexw called me at my office tonight... .  ranting about she was getting frustrated that nothing was happening fast enough and wanted to know what the hell was happening and when I was going to tell my attorney to get his ~ together!

I advised her of the facts... .

1. Attorney is out of town in SanteFe, NM which I advised her of 2 weeks ago... .  and her attorney advised her of the same.

2. Alerted her that by next week I will see a first draft for my review of a settlement.  She "directed" me to send it to her immediately! I calmly told her that after I give my attorney corrections and he will make revisions to the agreement and will have a revised settlement document on Tuesday of next week!

Told her thank you for the call and I would update next week.  Told her I had to go!

I was calm and their was no "Flight or Fight" that I had to make or feel like I had to get out and deliver her the copy of the agreement

Wow! Well done! Seems like you're in a good place . I loved that you wondered "where the familiar crunch of the eggshells went!"  Hopefully all of us can wonder the same thing before too long. Juliecelle

Good job! I AM proud of you but better yet... .  aren't YOU proud of yourself?

When my ex and I were divorcing he made many demands of me and it was like an epiphany when I realized I didn't have to jump when he said so! I finally got to the point where I let his lawyer deal with him. It was sweet!

I understand what you mean that you do not have to "jump" anymore... .  but there behaviors that they exhibit during the divorce have not really changed from what they have shown you over the years... .  and that is very sobering and very, very sad!

All those years of not giving up hope... .  those times where you tried to repair and reconnect when what seemed like you were stepping on egg shells surprised you when it escalated into a thermal nuclear blast!  My giver soul almost died because of that!

We have to remember that this is not intentional... .  and this is a serious disease... .  and the real deal reality is our spouse wBPD... . would probably blame us, recount for all how bad we were and caused all of the serious problems that caused the failing of the marriage... .  and would be very quick to easily call all of this out as they stood at the front of the church during the eulogy she was going to be giving at the front of the church?
