Does anyone else have the problem of their pwBPD looking like Mr. Wonderful, and have your family members thinking it is you with the problem, and they are at odds with you for reasons you have no idea why?

crazylife,

Yes, he looks like Mr. Wonderful all the time.

Yes, his family, extended family and friends of the family think I'm the problem.

Yes, they are at odds with me... .

bruceli,

his ex (he only has one) would love to have him back - apparently - so I've been reminded several times

and if he ever comes home to tell me the family is coming to spend a week at our house, I'll reply as Billy Joel so eloquently put it "I'm moving out... . "

When you ask if your extended family is snowed, do you mean the Non's relatives or the pwBPD's family?

My family isn't snowed at all.  They've all witnessed enough crazy outbursts from BPDH not to blame me.

However, H has lived away from his relatives for over 30 years, and he's become an alcoholic within the last 10+ years worsening his behaviors, therefore, they have little idea that he behaves as badly as he does.  H was a problem child (expelled from 2 schools, and suspended many times), but they seem to have think that he outgrew those behaviors because they've had little experience with his raging since (he did rage at his brother and sister a  few years ago).

His family has no idea that he has BPD.  They know he's an alcoholic and has depression (because of rehab), but because H paints me Black-Black, he tells them outrageous lies about me (infidelity, etc) so they think I'm 100% the problem.
