Occasionally, I have the fantasy that my BPDxw will just leave me alone.
It has been almost 7 years that we have been split. My d 21 and s 18 both live with me. Their mom sold the old house and their stuff (other than their clothes) and moved into a 1 bedroom apartment. There is very little reason for me and the BPDxw to interact.
Yet, as soon as she gets upset about something, she lashes out at me via email or text. The venom and blaming is bizarre.
The bad news is that I still get these communications.
The good news is that, although I still get a bit anxious when her name pops up, the anxiety goes away pretty quickly.
The projections and nonsensical accusations are text book perfect. When my GF of almost 2 years asked me about her, I treaded lightly and took my time explaining some of the challenges the BPDxw has that manifest themselves into issues thrust on me. She thought I was exagerating until she got to witness some behavior first hand.
Anyway, I am just venting a bit. I know we all have the fantasy that the x will just go away, but I think we have to be prepared for a lifetime of nonsense. The only thing I can control is how I react. But it sure remains a drag.
Thanks for hearing me out.
