Changing ME

So i have decided to keep a "family" relationship with the enabling family members around my BPD MIL. They want a relationship and I'm just not ready to walk away from everyone yet.
SO they want to go out to lunch.
HOW do I not hate them, yell, punch, resent... . and just become indifferent to them... . so that way we can have a nice 'political' lunch.
How do I become indifferent when I'm filled with so much anger and resentment for the past 6 years!
Roar... .

Hi mama m.
Do you have a therapist? A therapist can be hugely helpful when these kids of situations come up.
Good luck.

Are you ok with being angry and feeling resentment? I wouldn't fight these feelings. Accepting them will give you more control - and help you know how to express these safely. Also, think about what soothes you when you feel like that. Remember you are not your feelings... .
Oh and... . it took me years to be able to do that! Realised expressing it three lines makes it sound like I think it's easy!
