is there a such thing as a family picking a member to sort of be the problem, as not to address the scary borderline

I read about counterborderlines. does anyone have any experience with borderlines, family or otherwise where you sort of take the burden of being the disordered one so that everything and everybody can feel safe?

I've not read of anything clinical about counterborderlines.  I've seen some labels thrown around in non clinical blogs about this.  Mostly when I've read it it sounded like a way to cushion to blow so to speak, or put the onus of responsibility on someone else's mental illness as the cause not an independent and present set of mental health issues.  Most of clinical the things I've read are related to matching or complementary dysfunction.

Codependency

Narcissism

Etc.

Taking responsibility so others can be safe sounds like a person that is trying to control the emotional atmosphere of others as to not feel uncomfortable.  This may be codependency.
