A quick note... .I am going to late for work. Can't stop reading.
Thank you so much for recommending the book Overcoming BPD.
I am so grateful... .It has helped me already.
It is refreshing to know how much things have changed in the past 10 years.
One line I remember saying to the my dd psych 15 years ago. YOU see her 1 hour a week. I am with her the rest of the time. What do I do? I was so desperate at the time. He shrugged... .
I want to hug Valerie Porr... .
Instead I will hug all of you... .

Yes Vivek so much to learn. I know I had a hard time re-adjusting. I can only imagine what it must've felt like for her. On my drive home last night I cried. I had wanted to re-unite with my dd for years. I set an intention for her every night before I went to bed, that she is loved.
When she moved in I was filled with wishful thinking it would all be perfect. We would go to therapy, we would blah blah... . SCREEECH... .FULL STOP!
We have a lot of healing to do... .Slow, steady... .healing.
When I got home to my surprise she went grocery shopping and bought me flowers. Thanked me for everything... .
Thank you for the loving words and never giving up on the stupidity of me being a newbies.
Back to the book... .

Yeah! that book transformed our lives and helped my relationship with dd.
It said all the things I knew already, it validated me, which was an amazing experience. But best of all, taught me such brilliant tools.
I love the compassion in the book.
Happy reading

all of us here have been 'stupid newbies' - I had never heard of BPD until just before I came here ... .and my life is so different now, phew!
When you've finished the book, come back and add to the discussions, ok? That's a really good way to keep on learning.
