Hello to group,

One of our old family friends who is udBPD had a severe Psychogenic Amnesia Episode last week. Our family friend DA is a woman who is 53 years old. DA started to have a psychogenic seizure last week which ended up as amnesia.  DA doesn't remember her children, husband, friends and most family members.  DA has 8 children.

DA had an extremely traumatic childhood, also substance abuse issues, health problems, experienced death of a child, Took antidepressants, wanted to commit suicide. DA was extremely unhappy with her husband as he has congestive heart failure and could not help with the house.

Is it possible that this could be conscious?

Although she hired cleaning and childcare help many hires a week.

Many days DA was in bed all day and had her 16 year old daughter take care of the house and children.  This even went so far as to have the 16 year old drop out of school and do home schooling so she could be available when she needed her.

The strange thing about this is that DA said she went to see a lawyer to see if she could undo the last 2 childrens adoption.  DA doesn't remember her husband of 30 years either. DA has regressed to a young girl?

Is it possible because she couldn't change her life, DA took a permanent vacation?  This seems like a hollywood movie can this be real? Thanks in advance for any information explaining this hard to believe amnesia!
