I am not knowledgeable about Rihanna or her music, so this is not an endorsement of anything other than the lyrics, which resonated with me this morning. I thought I would share them!
All along it was a fever
A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air, said, "Show me something,"
He said, "If you dare come a little closer."
Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now, tell me now, tell me now, tell me now you know.
Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay
It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take – it's given
Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now, tell me now, tell me now, tell me now you know.
Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the reason I hold on
Ooh, ooh, ooh, 'cause I need this hole gone
Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving
'Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving.
Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay, stay.
I want you to stay, oh.
I still have a strong desire to reconnect with my ex. It comes and goes, but always has a certain baseline. I think a lot of it is, as the song says, Ooh, ooh, ooh, the reason I hold on
Ooh, ooh, ooh, 'cause I need this hole gone
The primary thrust of my experience on this site has been the discovery of the nature of the "holes" within me, the ways I fill them that are not truly satisfying and learning new ways to find meaning in life. I hesitate to emphasize this because the first many months on this site were focused on learning and understanding. That sounds so smooth... .I was driven by sharp pain, anguish, grief, confusion... .just awful, visceral hurt, to try to understand what happened to me and by my own choices. But, that ultimately led me to self-repair.
So many wonderful twists of phrase in this song... .
