Emotional dysregulation - what about cognitive and behavior dysregulation?

Are they derivations of dysregulation produced by emotional dysregulation as the root of BPD or are they distinct kinds of dysregulation originated independently that can affect each other ?
Is emotional dysregulation at the root of BPD or there is also other forms of dysregulation that make BPD so complex to deal with.
I feel this is at the core of the biological vs environmental factors debate.

This topic continues to resonates with what I have been experiencing. Recent research conducted at the UofT found that BPD do and can store information on memory and just like everyone else, the difficulty is in the retrieval.
My uBPDw seems to be conscious and quite aware and perhaps more sensitive than normal to capture details, and yet somehow when she is charged she can only recall the negative and bad memories discarding everything else in her world and around her.

My bf with uBPD seems to almost have two memory banks. One he accesses when he is stable which contains the good memories. The dysregulated him can only access the negative memories/thoughts.
It is clear as day to see. His overall memory is very very poor. I believe this is quite common - I wonder if its because the two memory stores (or rather accessability to them) seem quite separate which makes it hard for them to have a constant narrative string through their lives.
tbh I am not sure exactly what you mean by your question? I think that cogitive and behaviour dysregulation would be a result of emotional disregulation which would come first.
