I have been learning about my trauma

I have been doing Peter Levine's Healing Trauma online course this weekend. Wow its really hitting home for me.
I know that I brought alot to my relationship with my exBPD and that is one of the reasons I stayed , behaved the way i did and was so triggered by it.
Its helping me to understand alot about myself and how to work through the trauma I have experienced throughout my life.
I am also going to work on my schema inventory stuff too. I find that things seem to be coming together. Its alot of work but i feel excited too. It feels like doors are opening and real healing is taking place. This relationship has definitely been a catalyst for this change and growth. I am grateful.

Hey Carroline - that's great to hear ! good for you.
I haven't heard of that trauma course - can you tell me more about it? Maybe I should look into that as well.
I feel like I'm at a place of not wanting to look any more into myself - like I've done so much of it - that I just want to move forward and leave all the b.s. behind. My ex and my own bs. I don't know how helpful in the long run that might be for me but I'm tired.
Sometimes dwelling on things makes it just hurt more. But maybe that course you are referring to could be something worth checking out?
Thanks!

Hi corraline,
I'm glad you are finding benefit from Peter Levine's work. I have recently been listening to his work (an audiobook), and have found it very helpful, too. His latest
book
is very good.
Reaching a place of gratitude for the relationship is a wonderful turning point. This is really good news.
What are you finding the most helpful in this work?

you can google Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing. You can look at the course from the Sounds True website. They offer his Healing Trauma in a cd set or the online course. I am doing the online course.

I started to respond about what i am finding most helpful but decided that its too early to really say and found that because i am only part way thru I can't answer that fully. Also, i started going into my head too much , not something I want to do right now. Altho I think what i just said is what I am getting out of it at the moment.

Ive been very tired, seriously exhausted in the last week or so too. I also wanted to just take a break and was kind of wishing it would just all go away. I kind of liked that feeling to tell you the truth. It almost felt like a surrendering in a way. Give yourself some space, honor how you are right now. Give yourself some TLC
