body language contradiction?

during the last contact I had with the ex when I arrived he got up gave me a hug and said hi honey! this threw me off because we had already broken up and i was just there to pick something up. he started small talk then we started getting into a heated discussion and i decide to drop it and go. he tells me breaking up with me was was a good decision and he was miserable with me and he is happy now with his new girlfriend... . ok however he looked like crap and he his expressions didnt match his words. when i said i needed to go he said ok and got up and hugged me really hard and long to the point where i got uncomfortable. i broke the hug and said good bye. he said he hoped i kept in touch and i replied i wouldnt and when i drove a way he waved and smiled but looked like he got kicked in the face. what is that all about? is that typical behavior?

I figured he is not thrilled with having me go do to some feeling of abandonment but why say your happy when you clearly display the opposite?
