I don't know what to do anymore

My mother has undiagnosed BPD. She has had it all her life - but doesn't recognize it. I am 33 years old and my dad is the most patient man in the world . I have gone from being calm to reacting to my mother's rages. It's horrible . Recently - staying with them during a sabbatical - she has become worse. She is so mean in her states . And she doesn't accept she needs treatment. Everyone at our home (our housekeepers included) recognize she has a problem. I can't manage it anymore - but I know she needs treatment. After a month of her mood swings and making up things and Aleays attacking me I finally had my own panic and hysteric attack. My dad loves me very much and recognizes she has a problem - but he will never leave her. We could try therapy - but she doesn't admit she has a problem . Should I just walk away from her ?

What do others feel ? What could I do to get her to accept therapy ?

that's a real tough one. i can sense that you love her very much and really want the best for her. that is very commendable.
it is very hard to get them into therapy unless they both recognize they have a problem and want to get help. we can not change them, we can only change ourselves.
only you can decide to walk away or not.
if you are new here, there are great lessons on the side that will help you to learn about the condition and how to deal with difference scenarios. learning is the first step.

Thank You - my father and I have scheduled a session with a psychiatrist next week - hoping to introduce the issue and then take her to a session as well - where she will think we are dealing with things as a family. I will post on our progress . It's comforting to know I'm not the only out there who feels this way .
