Someone I know on Facebook posted this link:
www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/20/demanding-birthday-party-invitation_n_7101662.html?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000063While everyone who responded to the Facebook post scoffed at how ridiculous it was, I wanted to write: "I get letters similar to this several times a year!" --from uBPD SIL. I was wondering if this is familiar to anyone else? I realize this may not be a typical BPD trait. I think my SIL has some strong OCD and histrionic traits that not all people with BPD have. Everything has to be a certain way. And she has a hard time coping with inconveniences, disappointments ... . and gifts that don't suit her needs, particularly where her kids are involved.
It's been a challenge to deal with over the years. It's aggravating having gift giving micromanaged. But I just smile, grit my teeth and tell myself that at least I
know I'm getting something the nieces and nephews need. And, sadly, in the grand scheme of things, this gift giving stuff is the easiest thing to deal with when it comes to my SIL.
