Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

Just having a hard morning missing who I thought was my best friend and girlfriend.  I have so much id talk to her about specially wjth my job interviews lately and summer coming up. Then I think she is havjng those texts and talks now with new man. I miss those nice moments but I know what the reality of who she is.

Im glad I get to see my kids tonight

But then I get angry because I put up with so much stuff to try to make our relationship work, and rather than contribute to the relationship effort it was always "I don't get to see confused enough" or she'd be mad if I was a little late from work (I worked retail, and I'd always text her when I left especially when I would be late).

It's funny because the last few months have been so quiet, no drama, no fights between ex wife and me which would lead to fights between ex gf and me. I almost don't know how to function in this quiet.

So then what am I missing? Lol
