My BPDh is currently taking 4 prescription medications , only one of them seems to be helping, it's an antiseizure medication and he seems to be able to recover better and faster on it. Does anyone have any advice or experience on the topic of meds. I'm not sure who he is any more, he's so doped up!

Hi Ysabel,
there is no specific BPD medication. Some medication may support him however e.g. with respect to anxiety.
Is your husband seeing his T regularly and what form of therapy is he doing?

From what I've read, anti seizure meds are used for their mood stabilising properties. 4 different types of meds sounds a lot though. I would get a medical review. Anought hits the nail on the head - meds in isolation are often not enough

Meds need to be prescribed and monitored by a psychiatrist. GPs will often get out of their depth essentially treating symptoms not causes. pwBPD can ramp up the symptoms to feed the need for a magic fix pill.
Common areas were meds are used to take the "edge off" are anxiety, depression and mood stabilizers.
Care has to be taken not to keep adding pigments to the mix or it turns a horrible color that is hard to reverse. Leading to compounding side effects and dependency
