There are actually a lot of rituals people use to let go of the past in this way. You might really be onto something here. Writing a letter and burning it, things like that.

I stay away by reminding myself I am needy, desperate and a pathetic loser. That I would be mocked if I made contact. I cant believe that I could ever be missed, or that someone would actually want to see me. I dont feel worthy. Maybe i am just not.
