My mom refused to stop claiming me on her tax returns when I was in college, yet would ask me about twice a year "why don't you apply for financial aid?" I was continually asking her to stop claiming me. Her net contributions to my life/education were about $1000/yr. Nowhere near close enough to have claimed me as a dependent. I was working weekends, and took a part time job at the school. Some weeks in the winter, I had to borrow money to eat, and plan for books and tuition each semester.
The health insurance is another matter, though, because that's affecting your health directly. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Can you call the insurer and have them take you off?
Ugh, so you understand. I have to borrow money that my mom really doesn't have for food, and gas when I start a new school semester. It's such a pain to know that he is happy literally watching me suffer. :'(
I don't have my dad's info (Social #, or his Account #) so he has to be the one to take me off. But, he isn't going to do that because, he gets a certain amount of money back during tax season due to my sister and I being on his insurance. He has tried to claim me on his taxes but, my mom never gives him our social#, thank Yeshua. But, no all I can do is hope they take my secondary insurance. If that does not work I don't know what I am going to do. There is no free dental clinic near me. I have to see if my school does free or really low cost dental work on campus.
