Hi all.I'm an exhausted mother of a 19 year old girl with borderline traits and I'd even go to say she now has the full blown disorder.Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with it all I don't know where to turn.2 years ago our lives were turned upside down when she started showing signs something was seriously wrong and since then it feels like we are on a roller coaster and just don't know where it will stop.Would love to hear from people in a similar situation as myself as sometimes you feel your on your own fighting a loosing battle.

Welcome to the Board. My son is 44 and was diagnosed with BPD at the age of five. They insisted he go to therapy or he would be expelled. I was shocked at the time. Now I am just worn out.

You are in the right place. Hang around

Welcome. You are in a place where people understand. We are the parents of children, teens and adult children with BPD. I joined a few months ago and have found unconditional support. There are tools and articles that help immeasurably.

My daughter24 was diagnosed as BPD at around age 17. We went to intensive DBT for a year and she has been in and out of therapy for most of her life. I post when I have questions, and am given great advice. I am also pointed toward the excellent articles and tools, which have helped. I read a lot of posts and it helps me to understand my daughter more, which has relieved some of the resentment I had developed towards her.

Keep posting and you will get a lot of help.
