I'm curious how long you've had to suffer the silent treatment/disappearing and reappearing.

There is no way to tell. Past behavior is probably the best predictor.
The better question is what can YOU do to have a fulfilling life while your pwBPD is doing something else.
One of the reasons that they do this... .is they get some kind of reaction/impact from it.
If you move on with life... .it is likely (but not guaranteed) that this behavior will get better.

we recycled several times ... .each episode was progressively shorter. The first, I think was 3 or 4 weeks while the last was a few hours. However, the final discard has been well over a year now. Even though I know that she has no replacement (though I have replaced her), I really don't expect to hear from her again. (outside of the odd electronic stalking she has been doing)

Mine disappear 7 to 9 times, eventually she moved in, saved her life got her off drugs, blah blah, she left to stay with her mom, two days later everything great she moved back in, finally after a year of supporting her, helping her find a job, I was losing mine, she showed no empathy towards me, and never did through out the relationship, so I told her to leave, kinda though she would want to work it out. After two weeks tried to reconcile, after all, the majority of her thing were in the house. She said no. And them blamed me for ruining the relationship, she has no desire to contact me, never has, and never responded to any of my wishing her well. It's been four months. Every one is different. Good luck
