Songs for Recovery

Thought it might be interesting to share songs that we've heard that produce some reactions deep inside us. They can be songs to generate memories of the good times, songs of the despair we feel or felt, songs of hope for the future, or anything that causes a stir inside. I recommend listing the song title and artist. Include the lyrics if you want. Then we can go listen to it at our convenience (I use Youtube) and share if a particular song touched us in a certain way. Happy listening!
Half of Me - Emily Browning (Plush)
Where did you go?
Where did you go, my mistery
You left me alone
You left me to drown in misery
I can't feel no pain
I can't feel nothing but memories
So Where are you now?
Why would you want to leave me to
Go sleep in the clouds and dream still shine and down on me
And pieces underneath
Cause half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
You took my heart
You took the purest part of me
You left me alone
You made me my own worst enemy
Lost in the world
Searching for how we used to be
When you are there
When only you could carry me back to
Where we started
Before I got so brokenhearted
Before you took the best of me
Cause half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
Half of me is gone
Baby please wake up
Baby please wake up for me now
Uhhhhh Uh
Uhhhhh Uh

Hi Steve,
I don't know why but the song "Return to the Innocence" from Enya, give me some peace and I think it summarizes a little what I'm passing by... .returning to my true self, the one smashed by all my fears and perfectionism:
Return to the Innocence - Enya
Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence.
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny.
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence

At my weakest: Do what you gotta do, Nina Simone
":)o What You Gotta Do"
Do what you gotta do
Come on back see me when you can
Man I can understand how it might be
Kinda hard to love a girl like me
I don't blame you much for wanting to be free
I just wanted you to know
I've loved you better that your own kin did
From the very start it's my own fault
What happens to my heart
You see I've always known you'd go
So you just do what you gotta do
My wild sweet love
Though it may mean that I'll never kiss
Those sweet lips again
Pay that no mind
Find that dappled dream of yours
Come on back and see me when you can
Now I know it'll make you feel sad
And make you feel so bad
They say you don't treat me me like you should
They got ways to make you feels no good
I guess they got no way to know
I've had my eyes wide open from the start
And man you never lied to me
The part of you that they'll never see
Is the part you've shown to me
So you just do what you gotta do
My wild sweet love
Though it may mean that I'll never kiss
Those sweet lips again
Pay that no mind
Find that dappled dream of yours
Come on back and see me when you can
At my strongest: One less problem without you, Ariel Grace
Uh huh
I got one more problem with you, girl
Aye!
Ariana Grande
(One less, one less problem)
Hey baby, even though I hate ya
I wanna love ya (I want you)
And even though I can't forgive ya
I really want to (I want you)
Tell me, tell me baby
Why did you leave me?
'Cause even though I shouldn't want it
I gotta have it (I want you)
Head in the clouds
Got no weight on my shoulders
I should be wiser
And realize that I've got
Big Sean
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
Ariana Grande
I know you're never gonna wake up
I gotta give up (but it's you)
I know I shouldn't ever call back
Or let you come back (but it's you)
Every time you touch me
And say you love me
I get a little bit breathless
I shouldn't want it (but it's you)
Head in the clouds
Got no weight on my shoulders
I should be wiser
And realize that I've got
Big Sean
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
Iggy Azalea
It's Iggy Iggz
Uh, what you got?
Smart money, bettin' I'll be better off without you
In no time, I'll be forgettin' all about you
You sayin' that you know but I really, really doubt you
Understand my life is easy when I ain't around you
Iggy Iggy, too biggie to be here stressin'
I'm thinkin' I love the thought of you more than I love your presence
And the best thing now is probably for you to exit
I let you go, let you back, I finally learned my lesson
No half-steppin', either you want it or you just playin'
I'm listenin' to you knowin' I can't believe what you're sayin'
There's a million yous baby boy, so don't be dumb
I got 99 problems but you won't be one
Like what!
Ariana Grande
One less, one less problem
One less, one less problem
Head in the clouds
Got no weight on my shoulders
I should be wiser
And realize that I've got
Big Sean
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem

I stumbled across this Eminem/Sklyar Grey song "Twisted" I just hear the lyrics and it has helped me.
You sit there stone-faced, as if I'm not here
Can't you see that I've been crying?
I didn't know you'd be insane
Dreams can be so deceiving
You're an itch I can't reach
A wound that won't heal
The smell of skin that's burning
I didn't know you'd be insane
But it's true, and just say all I am to you is a
Pain in my neck, thorn in my side
Stain on my blade, blood on my knife
Been dreaming of her, all of my life
But she won't come true, she's just my nightmare I woke up to
She's twisted, he's a rebel, she's sick, he's hard to handle
The worst of all is he just don't care
She's twisted like a rope, that is wrapped around her throat
But the worst part of all is she really don't give a... .(shyt)
(She don't give a shyt)
Sometimes I wish that you'd just die
Cause I'm too afraid of leaving
I didn't know you'd be insane
Dreams can be so deceiving
(How did it come to this?
Why do I fantasize to kill you when you're sleeping?)
I didn't know you feel the same
When I say you're no good
All you are to me
Is a pain in my neck, thorn in my side
Stain on my blade, blood on my knife
Been dreaming of her, all of my life
But she won't come true, she's just my nightmare I woke up to
Love ain't no fairytale, love is a buried nail
Inside of this heart of stone, so you wanna get married?
Well Romeo, Romeo, smokin' blow with Antonio
In the back alley takin' shots of whiskey and only gold
Juliet's at the nudie bar, doin' God only knows
Neither one of 'em came to see the dog and the pony show
But a b___ is a b___, and a horse is a horse, ain't it?
Sorry I can't afford to get your daddy's old Porsche painted
Sorry Juliet that you embedded the sayin'
If a dollar makes you holler well then I'm gettin' the short change of it
Feel like I've been asleepin' alone and lovin' this angel
Entangled between a dream and a coma
Walkin' the edge of this cliff, like a sheep to it's owner
Now if you say that you hate somebody and you livin' with them
Then they pack up and leave and then you bytch about how you miss 'em
You gotta see the pattern of the blood all over the steerin' wheel
Love is a cannibal ridin' a carnival carousel
'Round and 'round we roll, where it stops, baby nobody knows
Some people go crazy and they lose control
Some people jump off, some people won't let go
Some people say love, some people say why
Some people don't love, they just want a free ride
The rain won't stop, it'll never dry
If she's in the house of pain then love is standin' outside
Maybe I'm the twisted one that screwed this up
So I guess this means Goodbye, for now

Some great lyrics. I listened to one of them so far and intend to make time to listen to the rest. On that note I wanted to add some more to the list. I came across this song that's so very powerful. Then I listened to other songs by that group and it sure seems like most were about a dysfunctional relationship maybe with a pwBPD involved but I have no idea. The lead singer overdosed on Heroin. They don't know if it was accidental or suicide. So listen to this song and see if you can feel his pain when he sings it.
Watch Me Bleed - Scary Kids Scaring Kids
This silence keeps it easy
Keeps you safe for the moment
As you're walking away
Your footsteps get louder
All you needed was time
But now time will destroy us
It will all be over and here we are
We're stuck inside this salted earth together
You pierce my lungs
My limbs go numb as my colors fade out
You watch me bleed
You watch me bleed
I gave you everything to die with a smile
All you wanted was to live for a while
You took everything but it left you empty
You can't replace me, you can't
It's almost over and here we are
We're stuck inside this salted earth together
You pierce my lungs
My limbs go numb as my colors fade out
You watch me bleed
You watch me bleed
It will all be over and here we are
We'll die inside this salted earth together
You pierce my lungs
Some other applicable songs by this group are "The Deep End", "A Pistol to My Temple", "Holding On", "A Breath of Sunshine".
Also I came across some songs from another group on the same lines. To keep this post short I'll leave off the lyrics but these songs are great listening.
Pieces – Red
Lie to Me - Red

A perfect circle- the outsider.
Too lazy to post lyrics
Also tool- push it another good one. One word but gets cencored on this forum. Also equally as lazy as before to post lyrics.

I would suggest a new one:
Now we are free - Gladiator soundtrack
www.lyricstranslate.com/en/now-we-are-free-now-we-are-free.html-0#ixzz3ufppsnja
Now We are Free
Healing to me
And freely to you from Sol Omnipotens
Yellow
Wings of Joy
Warmth of Day,
Sun of Dawn
O Sun of Yellow,
The Son of Righteousness,
Son of Morning Light,
Shine high and below!
Shine Aeonion!
Shine now, O Great I AM!
(Aaahh)
Shine now, O He Who Was!
Shine now, O Great to Come!
Now we are Free!
(Fast tempo, 4 times)
One the One now whom he was to be!
And the One by whom we now do all see
Healing to me;
Healing to you now freely from Sol:
Yellow
Yellow
For all the world too
Yellow
Live on
Rays below,
Come now,
Wings of Joy
Warmth of Day, Sun of Dawn;
The Sun of
Yellow,
Yellow,
Flame by Day
From Our Lord
Jesus,
Jesus,
True Sun of Liberty
Healing you free.

I'm looking through you -The Beatles
"I'm Looking Through You"
I'm looking through you, where did you go?
I thought I knew you, what did I know?
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same
Your lips are moving, I cannot hear
Your voice is soothing, but the words aren't clear
You don't sound different, I've learned the game
I'm looking through you, you're not the same
Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight
You're thinking of me, the same old way
You were above me, but not today
The only difference is you're down there
I'm looking through you, and you're nowhere
Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight
I'm looking through you, where did you go
I thought I knew you, what did I know
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same
Yeah
Oh baby I'm changed
Ah I'm looking through you
Yeah I'm looking through you
