Hello there,

For years my father's erattic behavior just baffled my mother and I. Then I became interested in psychology, and stumbled upon the world of personality disorders. It was then that I realized that my father is almost certainly borderline!

He will NEVER admit it. Never ever ever. So what I'm seeking is support mainly for my mom, who is depressed and demosivated dealing with his exhausting and sometimes abusive behavior. I am trying to help her to see his behavior as a disorder and try to depersonalize, but she is so worn down and is starting to HATE him!

Does anyone know of any hotlines she could call on the phone. She does not have internet access, or a car, so I'm searching for a way to support her via phone.

Thanks so much!

Does this involve domestic abuse? There are a lot of resources out there, especially for women, even if it's "just" verbal and emotional abuse, which victims can often be in denial about, sans physicality, though it can be just as damaging over time. What's going on, and what is your mother dealing with specifically?

Sometimes hitting the back button or arrow on your browser will return you to the post. Then you can copy the text, and paste it into a new reply (I found this out the hard way  Smiling (click to insert in post)
