VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

My ex be wife called it spinning but to me it was paranoid or delusional thoughts.  She would walk away from random interactions that seemed mundane to me and say "what did she mean by that or why would he ask that... .2 days later be accusing either me or the other person of essentially being out to get her or the worst thing in the world... .Talking about... .Everyone was always "talking about her"

After 4 yrs of home remodel be she fired 10 contractors and forced me to try to sue one of them, living with wires and no sheet rock for yrs In a very well to do neighborhood, guess what people are talking about u

So I guess my question is what is spinning vs paranoia?

Hello cootkilla

I've always thought of spinning as someone who was dysregulated, not centered in their thinking. Paranoia can be part of that. Thinking someone is always talking about you is insecurity and can be a paranoia.

How did this effect you?
