Last night I was lucky enough to go see a show put on by a new band I've been following here in the Midwest.  They were joined by an opening act I used to go see live 18 years ago when I was in college along with a 19 y/o virtuoso in the Jam Band/Bluegrass/Newgrass scene.  Great tunes, good craft beer and an evening out with friends.  Great night right?  For the most part it was.

Unfortunately the thorn I ran into was a good friend who works in the same school district as my exBPDgf happened to see a facebook post of a mutual friend of theirs, showing the ex with this mutual friend at last Sunday's local NFL game.  She brought it up in front of all of my friends, everyone was uncomfortable.  Later I shared with her that I'm no longer on any dating apps, I have blocked the exBPDgf on Facebook along with any of her friends.  This shields me from any weird friend recommendations, friend requests, or any of them "checking up" on me.  After my friend's thoughtless comment I began ruminating over the ex, the lost "love", and how much it hurts that she's gone.  I just wonder how long will it be until I don't care anymore?

I'd just let it wash.  If you have friends in the same circle, it's bound to happen again.  So long as it's known that you aren't together anymore, it's on your friends to try to be as sensitive as possible, and let the rest roll off of you.

Iluminati, I did not respond to her about it directly.  She's someone who is still pretty upset about a relationship ending earlier this year and seems to get very upset when guys she's interested in are not as interested in her.  I don't know why she felt the need to share that with me, but I let her know I've blockaded myself from contact with the ex.  The ex and I don't have any mutual friends that I'm aware of, my friend and my ex do.  So only this one friend would have brought her up.  Hopefully she gets it, I'm considering talking to her about it a bit more directly this weekend so she can be a better friend.

Basically if I bring up how I'm feeling it'd be great if you could be there for me, but I don't want to hear about her and the things going on in her life.
