I know it's been a few years, and I feel really bad for not being regular about posting. Several people may not be here that were here back in 2010, but some may remember me. This board had been a
huge
help in bolstering me and keeping me calm as I left my abusive BPD ex. So a thank you is duly noted there.
It's been up and down for the last several years, but I went back to get my degree. Got my associate's in 2013 and returned to the very university I started and had to leave in 2009. It was a second chance, and I majored in Criminal Justice-something my ex told me I could never do or get a job in because I had a mild case of tourettes. Granted, I can't be a police officer, but the field is not limited to that, I can go into corrections or even courts if I wanted. Well, I got my Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, had the best support from my family.
Ironically six years later I heard back from her, albeit not directly. It didn't affect me much. She contacted my grandparents because she had their number and email, I was about to ask them to give me her info to tell her to not harass my grandparents and to talk to my former Internship supervisor at the Public Defender's Office about what I could do. I did talk to him and he said "ignore her and have your grandparents block her number and emails". They haven't heard from her since. (She wanted the divorce paper copies to show the state that we were divorced and I didn't have to pay child support for a child she got pregnant with in 2011-it was a trap that didn't work out for her)
Well, now a year after my Bachelor's degree I'm working towards a master's and finally have my career starting. I've got a job as a correctional monitor somewhere. A foot in the door with great potential to promote outwards and move on up. Got the best friends and family I could possibly have, and I got to say, it's about damned time something good happened
Been one hell of a journey, and something tells me it's only the beginning... .

Hi King1989,
Congratulations on your degree and thank you for posting this update. I wasn't here in 2010, but I'm glad to hear that your life has taken such a great turn for the better. I can relate to your new endeavors; my life has changed quite a bit since my breakup with pwBPD.
