Hi, This is my first time here.  I've been married for 28 years and feel lately this has gotten worse .  I'm at the point that I'm wondering if I should see a therapist because I've been feeling quite depressed and lonely because of walking on eggshells for so long.  I'll keep my first post short because I'm not really sure how much detail I should or need to go into.  I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone that is going through a similar situation.

Hi usn7251979,

Welcome

Sorry to hear about your difficult circumstances, but we are glad you found us.  Yes to a therapist, any here have found the guidance of a good professional to be worth their weight in gold.  And good for you for recognizing that need.  Speaking of walking on eggshells, have you read the book Stop Walking on Eggshells?  Good place to start.  Are you alone in what you are experiencing... .not by a long shot.  Poke around and read some of the stories others post here, you'll find that you probably could've written many of them.  Share what you feel comfortable with... .one thing I learned here is the more I shared, the more I got in return.  You've found the right place... .we are here to walk with you.

Hi, welcome to the BPD family, it sounds like you are in a difficult time and you have come to the right place. I have a partner with BPD and have found this website incredibly supportive. I have also just started therapy and would recommend it for anyone who feels it might be right for them, but in particular because of loving someone with this illness. If you feel you can, perhaps you can explain a bit more about your situation and how you are feeling, there are lots of people here in similar situations and by writing and reading responses I am sure you will find it helpful.
