Meditation for Beginners | Dan Harris and Sharon Salzberg

About the Speakers
Dan Harris is a correspondent for ABC News, an anchor for Nightline and co-anchor for the weekend edition of Good Morning America. Harris has reported on a series of events such as the mass shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, Aurora, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona, and has covered various natural disasters from the earthquake in Haiti to Myanmar to New Orleans. He has also reported on combat in Afghanistan, Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, and has made six visits to Iraq.

In June, 2004 Harris had an on-air panic attack, which prompted him to get help and led him to the benefits of meditation. You can find more of Dan's story here.

Sharon Salzberg is a meditation teacher and New York Times best-selling author. She is the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, and has played a crucial role in bringing Asian meditation practices to the West. Sharon has been a student of meditation since 1971, guiding retreats worldwide since 1974. She is a weekly columnist for On Being, a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and the author of many books including Real Happiness, and Lovingkindness.
