My HwBPD is really into conspiracy theories. In fact, he is cynical about, and does not trust, just about any body of authority, which guides his political viewpoints. He does not believe in scientific consensus, and does not believe anything coming from agencies such as the US FDA, CDC, CIA, or FBI. He follows the likes of Alex Jones religiously, and was really into the whole "Pizzagate" conspiracy theory thing for a while.

I've read that conspiracy theorists fear a lack of control, which really makes sense for someone with BPD. I wonder, are many people with BPD susceptible to conspiracy theories, and mistrustful of authoritative bodies in particular, even when shown hard evidence? Has anyone had a partner who believed such things and changed their views after getting treatment?

My uBPDH is really into this also. He listens to conspiracy theory rap, Alex Jones, and other alternative news. He is open to flat earth, believes anarchy is the only way to solve world problems, and he obsessed on this. He thinks government and news are trying to control our minds. With all the political stuff going on right now he is stuck deep in it currently and if I don't agree with him then it causes dysregulation.

I enjoy reading about, listening to, and talking about this stuff a little but I get frustrated when it goes on for days and weeks. And when it causes him dysregulation I just want him to turn it off.
