Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I'm a lesbian in a long-distance relationship with a woman who has been showing signs of Borderline Personality Disorder. I care about her deeply, but at times the emotional ups and downs, intense arguments, and sudden withdrawal phases are overwhelming and leave me confused, drained, and unsure how to support her—or myself.
I’m not here to judge or diagnose, just trying to understand more, learn how to set healthy boundaries, and not lose myself in the process. I also want to hear how others have managed similar relationships—what worked, what didn’t, and how you take care of your emotional health.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts. It means a lot to know I’m not alone in this.
Warmly,
Marzi

Hi and welcome,
I was also in long distance with my s/o for quite some time and i must agree that it's not easy.. i didn't handle stuffs so well back then because I didn't know about BPD but now I know better. For instance, back then I noticed that he used to stop contacting and stop replying in a very periodic fashion. Like 3-4days talking, then suddenly 1-2days no reply, then again back as if nothing happened.. do you face something like this? Later on, when i came to know about BPD, I placed a very strong boundary regarding this.
Would you like to share with us in more details about specific challenges that is difficult for you to cope?
