Hello All,
My 17 year old nephew was diagnosed with BPD in November as a result of landing in ER from LSD trip.  Since this time it has been a series of running in 14 different directions for help in getting together a psych team of Drs and psychologists that are specialized in BPD.  His exhausted parents and I are trying to avoid a residential program, and are trying to find a successful (program with effective well versed BPD specialists) partial hospitalization program in NY or in Northeast area.
Actually for that matter if anyone knows of a program which shows the most success no matter where it is we would like to hear about it.  Thanku everyone and I wish all good luck and strength with your own situations.
Best to all!

Hello Everyone,  Bullet: contents of text or email (click to insert in post)
Our 17 year old boy is in need of a psychiatrist who is adept and knows
how to treat BPD with medications.  We have been thru 2 Drs who are not "used
to/or are limited" in treating this disorder," and this has been difficult in trying to move forward in getting him into therapy.  And we have been going around in circles with the Drs referring us to treatment centers that do not have DPT. We are shocked by the lack of knowledge in the medical community on this disorder.  We realize medications are trial based,  that we have to keep trying different ones until we find the right ones.  But they have not put him on a mood stabilizer and I had to push for antidepressant therapy which he needs,-no interest in anything, stopped getting involved in any of prior activities.
Please, if someone could help us with some names of Drs knowledgeable in BPD that have helped them, we need a dr in New York ,(Long Island would be even better), who knows how to medically manage our child, and is experienced with treating BPD patients- we are having such a rough go at this.
We so appreciate!  Thanku all for any help!

With much Appreciation!

Desperate mom and dad

We would consider the tri-state area if you have a great dr or therapist.

We are having such a rough time, my house and our lives are turned upside down. Thank you for taking the time to read this, reaching out to people that understand the position we are in.

Thank you again
